I design things,
take pictures,
and you can generally
find me outside.
This is my UX/UI design portfolio
I am a creative UX/UI designer with a background in lifestyle & adventure photography. I think constantly about how to improve a user's experience within physical design and digital environments, everything from light switches to web apps. I've worked in the creative field for over a decade with brands like Starbucks, Jansport, & Chase Bank. My photography background allows me to design user experiences and interfaces that are intuitive and visually appealing even at early stages of the design process.
Since 2008, I’ve run my own freelance commercial lifestyle photography business and was quite happy with my career. I have been interested in studying UX and UI for years but couldn’t justify taking time away from my growing business.
Then came 2020, a weird year for everyone. I started the year full of inspiration and gusto for moving my business into larger markets and capitalizing on some big name clients I had shot projects for in 2019 - but then everything screeched to a halt, kicking off a tumultuous year that almost no-one expected.
With companies’ budgets frozen and no-one shooting in-person lifestyle photography, I thought, what better time to go to school! Now I have the skills to do two things that I love, and with my decade plus of experience working with companies and advertizing firms, I have a unique perspective and ability to combine those skills for designing killer UIUX products.
